The work of a nurse is typically important to everyone. At one point or another, one will need the services of nurse directly or indirectly. The nurses usually carry out services like assessing patient's health problems and needs, administering health care to patients of all kinds, maintaining patients' medical reports and records, developing and maintaining nursing care plans, at times advise patients on health issues or disease management and prevention among others. From the above we can deduce that nurses are very important to us as individuals and to the society.
A worker or employee expects to be paid after delivery of his services or any other way of contributing to the achievement of any product. Salaries are used as a way of appreciating an individual's efforts towards a certain target and used as a way of motivating the person to work or give better services. Even so, nurses in some places and especially in developing countries are paid meager salaries. Because of this, many nurses are de-moralized leading to poor performance in their duties and even to some having to re-locate to better paying zones, which in most cases are outside their respective home countries. As the population grows worldwide, so does the need for more health facilities and personnel and that means an increment in the salaries of nurses.

In AFC, the NHS job evaluation system determines a points score, which is used to match jobs to one of the nine pay bands and determine levels of basic salary. Each of the pay bands has different numbers of pay points. In normal circumstances, the staff usually progress to the next pay band in an annual basis. In addition to basic salary, there is also extra pay for nurses who work in high pay areas or in dangerous zones in the world. The NHS is a system used in the United Kingdom to pay nurses. Other countries have different paying systems but obviously nurses are paid on different grades and using different measurements.
The best paid nurses include a Certified Registered nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).The best nurse paying cities in the world include Maryland, Alaska, Hawaii, California, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, Nevada, Oregon, and Massachusetts. These cities pay between $22.62 and $25.45 on an hourly rate. Well if we spell the worst paying cities in the world maybe no one will be willing to work there and hence it better to leave it at that, because everyone wants to be that best paid personnel.
Whichever level of development any given country is at, and whatever the financial status it has, it is important to pay its nurses well to motivate them and keep them from running to other countries to look for greener pastures as the health of the nation is more important than anything else.
